The easiest way to start Blogging is by using Blogger. The instructions are clear and it is quick to get started. Keith Burnett, a lecturer in Sutton Coldfied FE college runs tutorials to get colleagues started. His notes [pdf] are available on his Blog and the 6 pages are a useful reference.
Keith also has a podcast which describes his use of Blogging to support students.
Take care with security to avoid spam - use fuzzy letters.
College security systems may block Blogs but the techies should be able to unlock it. I set up the Blogs at home then give IT support the web address to unlock.
This post demonstrates my main use of the Blog - linking to web addresses I want the reader to use.
Wordpress is also popular but it is more difficult to learn. It is more versatile but is too slow unless the connection is broadband.
